1. What is AcutePlus™?

"AcutePlus™ is an equine health and wellness membership program offered through leading veterinary practices. The program offers plans to fit the needs of horse owners, including routine care, acute medical and mortality benefits, as well as other membership perks such as concierge services and loyalty points that can be applied to your invoices as bill credits. As part of our concierge services we provide a member helpline by phone, email and chat to answer questions about the benefits, review invoices and help with scheduling. Additionally, we provide members with other fun perks. For example we offered all AcutePlus™ members VIP tickets to several prominent equestrian competitions."


2. What is the difference between the different levels of memberships?

"Plan levels vary by practice and provide increasing levels of routine care, acute medical and mortality benefits. For example, typical plans range from $5,000 to $10,000 of annual acute medical benefits. Routine care includes an annual physical, core vaccines, Coggins testing, and more. Higher-level plans include additional benefits, such as a dental float and complete blood count."


3. Why should horse owners become a member; what is their benefit?

"Aside from the clear benefits of having routine care covered while providing for acute medical and mortality incidents, AcutePlus™ provides convenience and portability. 

Convenience: When routine care benefits are utilized at the primary practice, invoices are processed, and benefit funds are sent directly to the practice meaning members don’t have to wait days or weeks for reimbursements. 

Portability: Membership benefits can be used with any licensed veterinarian worldwide but are maximized when used in-network."


4. Do horse owners have to be or become a client of PBEC when they sign up for AcutePlus™?

“No. Members may utilize their benefits at any licensed veterinary practice. However, they maximize their benefits in-network. We are in the process of adding additional practices and encourage consumers to mention AcutePlus™ to their vets."
